The Lower Paxton Township Board of Supervisors launched the Parks Revitalization Project in late 2021, after passing the 2022 Budget, with no general fund increases.
The Project is funded by the sale of unused tracts of Township-owned land, American Rescue Plan Act funds, and grant funds. The Parks Revitalization Project is investing more than $3 million, over the course of the next five years to improving the Lower Paxton Township Park System. The Board of Supervisors is currently in the process of organizing and gathering data for a Parks Master Plan and will use that Plan to guide several of the improvements.
The launch of the project officially kicked off on February 25th, when Lower Paxton Township was awarded $150,000 from the Dauphin County Commissioners for the creation of the Parks Master Plan and the resurfacing and improvements of Brightbill Park Basketball Courts.
The proceeds from the sale of this land, on Wenrich Street, will provide over two million dollars to be added to the PRP.
The Township replaced the fencing at the pony field located along Balthaser Street.
